FAQ

  • Why is CBD good for my skin?
According to a scientific study conducted by Olah et al. (2020), "Administration of CBD to cultured human sebocytes and human skin organ culture inhibited the lipogenic actions of various compounds, including arachidonic acid and a combination of linoleic acid and testosterone, and suppressed sebocyte proliferation via the activation of transient receptor potential vanilloid-4 (TRPV4) ion channels. Activation of TRPV4 interfered with the prolipogenic ERK1/2 MAPK pathway and resulted in the downregulation of nuclear receptor interacting protein-1 (NRIP1), which influences glucose and lipid metabolism, thereby inhibiting sebocyte lipogenesis. CBD also exerted complex antiinflammatory actions that were coupled to A2a adenosine receptor-dependent upregulation of tribbles homolog 3 (TRIB3) and inhibition of the NF-κB signaling. Collectively, our findings suggest that, due to the combined lipostatic, antiproliferative, and antiinflammatory effects, CBD has potential as a promising therapeutic agent for the treatment of acne vulgaris." This is one of the many academic articles that supports CBD as a natural skincare agent that is very good for your skin. The research behind the benefits of CBD for skin was the driving factor that brought the idea of Aureum CBD skincare to life! • What is the difference between CBD and THC?
Different strains of cannabis are planted based on the different cannabinoids that growers are wanting to yield. Cannabinoids are the various closely-related compounds contained within the cannabis plant. Over 80 different cannabinoids exist. Two common examples of these cannabinoids are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) (Shannon et al., 2019). THC is the most abundant cannabinoid commonly known for its psychoactive properties whereas CBD, the second most abundant cannabinoid, is commonly known as the non-psychoactive compound of the cannabis plant that has numerous health benefits associated with it. Why does this information matter? Because it explains why CBD does not get you high. As mentioned above, different strains of the plant are grown based on the cannabinoids that growers are seeking to extract. Therefore, different strains of cannabis contain different amounts of THC and CBD. Shannon et al. (2019) state that “Hemp plants are grown for their fibres and high levels of CBD that can be extracted to make oil, but marijuana plants grown for recreational use have higher concentrations of THC compared with CBD”. This depends on what you are taking it for. However, we see the best results when our products are used over a longer period of time. Government legislation states that you should consume 20mg or less of CBD per day. This is 1ml (a full dropper) of Aureum's CBD Oils.
  • How do I take CBD Oil?
Aureum's CBD oils have been specially formulated to enhance general wellbeing using premium quality CBD (imported from the USA) and various other essential oils and natural ingredients. We utilise a base of Ethanol and MCT oil in order to ensure that our CBD oils are palatable yet enjoyable and quick to absorb. Therefore, our oils are highly concentrated and can cause a slight "sting" if directly placed under / onto your tongue when using them for the first time. If you have a sensitive mouth, we recommend diluting the product with water in a 1:1 ratio (half a dropper of CBD oil and half a dropper of water). Half a dropper = 0.5ml (our recommended daily dosage). Once diluted, keep under tongue for 30 seconds, then swallow. In order to obtain the best results, we recommend taking your CBD drops every day, over a period of time. Shake well before use and most importantly, enjoy!
  • Is it normal for CBD products to change colour?
CBD products can change to hues of purple/pink/brown when exposed to oxygen, heat and light. This reaction is completely harmless & has no effect on the quality, effectiveness or shelf life of the products. However, to avoid product discolouration we recommend storing your products in a cool, dark place (as recommended on the product packaging).
  • Can you fly internationally with CBD Products?
The international rules and regulations on CBD are unclear and vary by country, so the best thing you can do is to research CBD laws in your destination place — including the laws in any planned stopovers. Although CBD is legal in most countries, most professionals advise against taking CBD-infused products on a plane, especially if the country you’re traveling to has stricter cannabis laws. Getting into trouble in a new country is never a good idea, so if you insist on having CBD with you, it may be easier to ship your CBD oil to your final destination — or do some research on local vendors to see if they’re selling high-quality products.
